N.B. : "The Sultana" is supposed to be the mother of Ibrahim's son, not Ibrahim's mother. This picture is not related to Kösem Sultan.

Description |
English: A depiction of Zaffira (named on p. 645 of the source), said to be one of the wives of Ottoman Sultan Ibrahim I, with a servant boy. She and her son Osman (illustrated in a separate engraving: see below) were on a Turkish ship that was part of a convoy sailing from Constantinople to Alexandria and carrying a number of pilgrims bound for Mecca, which was attacked by the Knights Hospitaller of Malta during the Action of 28 September 1644. |
