Venn diagram illustrating differences between Lagrangian ocean analysis community codes. Codes in the red circle are offline, those in the blue-violet circle include a stochastic term and those in the green circle compute trajectories analytically.
Summary
[edit]DescriptionVenn LOA.png |
English: This diagram groups Lagrangian ocean analysis codes according to 3 categories: whether the code is offline, whether the method used to compute trajectories is analytic and whether a stochastic term to model diffusion and/or other unresolved physics is included. All codes shown not in the offline circle (online codes) are packages of ocean general circulation models (OGCMs). All codes shown that do not use analytic methods to compute the trajectories use explicit integration methods. The information shown in this diagram was taken from [1]. |
