"Probably early C16 origins, remodelled in the late C16/early C17, roof raised late C18. Whitewashed rendered cob and stone rubble; thatched roof, half-hipped at left end, gabled at right end; end stacks and axial stack, all with brick stafts; right gable end weatherboarded." https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1097831 . http://www.mit.edu/~dfm/genealogy/sercombe.html mentions that in 1901 a Joseph Sercombe lived here "with his wife Mary, their children Wilfred, Charlie, Bessie, Polly, Joseph, William, David, John, Percy, and Ruth, and carter Frank SERCOMBE (his fourth cousin)". |
