Numerous fine specimens scattered overwell nigh the whole of Great Britain and Ireland, attest itsadaptahility to the British climate ; the average yearly increase inheiglit of the leader shoot varies from climatic and other causes from15 to 25 inches and even more in localities particularly favourable forits development.
