Description

Veigné (Indre-et-Loire)

Le châtaignier de la Championnière.

Châtaignier tricentenaire. Chestnut tree tricentenary.


Le châtaignier se trouve sur la partie Nord-Est du domaine de la Championnière. Son envergure est de 25m environ et la circonférence de son fût mesurée en 2004, à 1,30 m du sol, fait 8,50 m. Son âge est estimé à plus de 300 ans. Il aurait peut-être pu connaître la mort de Louis XIV et certainement le règne de Louis XV.

Cette arbre a reçu le label Arbre Remarquable de France en 2007.
