[edit]DescriptionVatsala Bhagwati Bhaktapur Durbar Square Bhaktapur Nepal Rajesh Dhungana (4).jpg |
English: Vatsala Bhagwati temple in Bhaktapur Durbar Square area. This artistic temple was built during the reign of King Yakshamalla. It was revived by King Bhupatindra Malla. These Bhagwati are also considered as another form of mountain. These goddesses are also called Vatsaleshwari. Inside this temple, there is a linear carving on the lotus pedestal of the rock symbolizing Vatsala Bhagwati. Vatsaladevi is also considered as Shiva's lover. The feature of this temple is that even though it is a temple of the goddess, there is a trident on the upper part of the roof. According to the religious tradition, regular worship is performed in this temple. This temple is very crowded with devotees on Saturdays and Nepalese great Dashain festivals. Guthi has also been arranged for the daily worship of this temple. The Bhaktapur Durbar area is beautiful in itself, but this artistic temple has greatly enhanced the beauty of the Bhaktapur Durbar area. |
