Summary

[edit]
Description
Magyar: Funkciója szerint a kő a padozatba beépített kereszt-tartó lehetett. A funkció és a felirat összhangja: a keresztre feszített Jézus szavai találhatók a keresztet tartó kő peremére vésve. A vargyasi rovásfelirat olvasata: "imé fioγ të neküd", ami mai magyar nyelven: "Íme a Te fiad!". (Jn 19,26) (Ismeretes még: "vargyasi keresztelőmedence"-ként)
English: A possible reconstruction of the crucifix of the Vargyas Relic. The sentence was cited from the Gospel of John: “Woman, behold your son”. G. Ferenczi supposed that the relic served as a support for a statue. The stone could have been the foundation of a crucifix or a statue representing the scene of Calvary, based on its shape and the meaning of the Szekely-Hungarian rovas inscription.
