Summary
[edit]DescriptionVanguard1.jpg |
English: Model of Vanguard 1 satellite series. The satellite is shown inverted from the orientation it had during launch. The cylindrical object on top of the sphere is a launching adapter, secured to the satellite body with a metal strap. The metal band was released after the rocket achieved orbit, allowing the satellite to fly free of the adapter.
