Summary
[edit]DescriptionVandals at Work.jpg |
English: 25 May 2016. At the rear of Marcus Garvey Library, destructive vandals known as Haringey Council leaders were complicit in concreting over a large part of the former children's garden.
The revolving door installed was part of a plan to switch the entrance to the Library and Customer Services offices from the main frontage in Philip Lane to a walkway tucked away at the back of the building. Thankfully, due to local opposition including the Library Friends Group (chaired by the dynamic Jasmin Taylor) this daft plan was put on hold, at least for the time being. _____________________________________ § Link to a Freedom of Information Act request made to Haringey Council in 2015 about the Relocation of Haringey Customer Services in Tottenham to Marcus Garvey Library. I don't recall meeting the person who made the request. Haringey's response to her was, to say the least, grossly unhelpful. In my personal opinion it was also shameful. Why do we continue to vote for destructive vandals who appear to ignore children and young people and how important libraries can be for them? |
