Description
English: One of some pictures of the graveyard and an important monumental grave. This grave is located on the east side of the Seljuk Cemetery in Gevaş District. According to the inscription on the entrance door, it was built by Melik Izzeddin in 1335 for his daughter Halime Hatun. His master is Esed, son of Ahlatlı Pehlivan. The burial chamber of the two-storey cupola has a square plan, and the eastern door is accessed by a ladder. It was built as a dodecagonal body on a square base with bevelled corners. The cupola, which is covered with a pyramidal cone at the top, was built with smooth cut stone material. A crown door was opened on the northern façade of the body, and windows were opened in the other three directions. Triangular niches animate the surfaces in between. All the facades are decorated with vegetal, geometric and inscriptions in the form of strips and medallions. It was restored by the General Directorate of Foundations.
