Description
Español: Iglesia del monasterio cisterciense de Santa María de Valbuena en el término de Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid). Retablo barroco del siglo XVIII, atribuido a Pedro de Correas. En el centro hay un baldaquino exento donde está colocada una imagen de la Virgen de la Asunción. Sobre la imagen aparece un ángel volandero en actitud de coronar a la Virgen, dando una impresión teatral como corresponde al barroco. Por detrás del baldaquino está el retablo que se adapta perfectamente al ábside. En el cuerpo bajo hay cuatro figuras de tamaño natural que representan a Bernardo, Anselmo, Ildefonso y Pedro Damián (un santo).
English: Church of the ciscertian monastery of Santa María de Valbuena in Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid). 18th century barroque altarpiece attributed to Pedro de Cprreas. In the center there is an exempt baldachin with an image of the Virgen de la Asunción. There is a flying angel on the virgin in the attitude of coronate her, giving a dramatic effect as the barroque requires. The altarpiece is behind the baldachin perfectly fitted to the apse. There are four figures of natural size on the low body which depict to Anselmo, Ildefonso and Pedro Damian (a saint).
