Description
Español: Arqueta de madera donde se encontraron el día 10 de diciembre de 1954 los restos mortales del célebre escritor y magnate Don Juan Manuel (1282-1348), que era hijo del infante Manuel de Castilla y nieto del rey Fernando III de Castilla. La arqueta con los huesos de Don Juan Manuel, que había sido ocultada tras el saqueo del convento de San Pablo por los soldados franceses en 1809, durante la Guerra de la Independencia, fue encontrada en 1955 en un arcosolio del presbiterio de la iglesia del convento de San Pablo de Peñafiel, que había sido fundado por Don Juan Manuel en 1324 con la intención de que a su muerte su cadaver fuera enterrado allí, y en la actualidad dicha arqueta se encuentra expuesta en el interior de dicho templo, aunque los restos de Don Juan Manuel descansan en una urna de piedra moderna colocada en el mismo arcosolio donde fue hallada la de madera. Provincia de Valladolid, (España).
English: Church of the convent of San Pablo in Peñafiel Valladolid, Spain. Small chest of wood where the remains of Don Juan Manuel, founder of the convent were found. The chest was discovered at the presbytery in 1954.
