BAVARIA 81 Suddenly you stumble upon the monument toHans Sachs, and a few paces distant you see thehouse where he made shoes and wrote his comediesand songs. You are fascinated with the doggerelover the doorway, which reads thus : Hans Sachs was a shoe-Maker and a poet too. Near by you are amused at the figure of the bag-piper, that speaks of the strange music which gavepleasure to Nurembergers as it does to the Scot.Then you stand before the St. Lorenz Church,the glory of Nuremberg.
