It is considered a typical old Dutchfarm house. Continuing to the end of the Subway wealight at the entrance to Van Cortlandt Park, whichbegins at 242nd Street, just beyond the Harlem River m the Bronx. i • i, i There are two points of interest nearby which al-though not in Manhattan, may be included here for thebenefit of those who have made the trip with us so f ar—the University of the City of New York, which is famousfor its Hall of Fame, the gift of Helen Gould. Muchdiscussion surrounds the selection of the names chosenfor this distinction. A few blocks further, at 194thStreet and Kingsbridge Road, is a very interesting oldbuilding—the home of Edgar Allan Poe. It is containedin a small section of public land called Poe Park. Ashort trolley ride on the surface car brings us to it. 321
