DescriptionValençay (Indre) (47122227471).jpg	Valençay (Indre) La gare. Gare ferroviaire située sur la ligne de Salbris au Blanc. L'édifice, propriété de la SNCF, est fait de pierres de tuffeau blanc. La gare a été construite au début du XXe siècle dans le style néo-renaissance sur les plans de l'architecte parisien Félix Houssin*, en référence au château voisin qui a appartenu au prince de Talleyrand. La construction a été financée en partie, par l'arrière-arrière-petit-neveu du diplomate, le duc de Valençay (mort en 1952), propriétaire du château, qui a donné les terrains nécessaires à la ligne. La gare est mise en service, le 6 octobre 1902, avec l'ouverture de la voie entre la gare de Romorantin et la gare d'Écueillé. Côté quai, l'horloge à gauche de la porte est commune à toutes les gares de la ligne, mais ici elle est inscrite dans un cadre plus orné qu'ailleurs. A droite de la porte, le plan de la ligne est gravé sur une plaque de marbre blanc. La frise du sommet de la toiture est en zinc. Les lanternes de style Art Nouveau sont suspendues à des potences en fer forgé.
