Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Václav Říha (* 1 February 1919 Budapest - 24 October 1942 KT Mauthausen) was the lover of Anna Maruščáková (1923-1942), to whom he introduced himself as "Milan". A brief letter he wrote to her at the "Palaba" company in Slany (Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia) coincidentally fell into the hands of the Gestapo, who mistakenly considered it as a clue leading to the masterminds of the assassination of R. Heydrich. Václav Říha was arrested on the morning of 4 June 1942, imprisoned in Prague, in the Small Fortress of Terezín, and executed on 24 October 1942 in the Mauthausen concentration camp.
