Summary
[edit]DescriptionVachery Stones^ - geograph.org.uk - 1535307.jpg |
English: Vachery Stones? I'm informed these are in fact Vachery Stones, large flat stones that, in the middle ages, would be grouped together to make a "pen" or "vachery" for cattle. As farming methods improved and the stones were no longer needed they were then used for boundaries and even flooring. I would be grateful to be put right if this is incorrect. |
