Description
English: The Lancaster, Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) perform a flypast over the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to mark the 75th Anniversary of Victory over Japan Day.

Several VIP’s including Prime Minister Boris Johnson and HRH the Prince of Wales attended the 75th Anniversary of Victory over Japan Day, at the National Memorial Arboretum and take part in the National Act of Remembrance.

The BBMF operates from RAF Coningsby, a Typhoon base, in Lincolnshire. The mission of the RAF BBMF is to maintain the priceless artefacts of our national heritage in airworthy condition in order to commemorate those who have fallen in the service of this country, to promote the modern-day Air Force and to inspire the future generations.

The Flight operates six Spitfires, two Hurricanes, a Lancaster, a C47 Dakota, and two Chipmunk aircraft (primarily for training). The aircraft are flown by regular RAF Aircrew.
