English: Phrygian cauldron with sirens and bearded heads, height 51.5 cm, from the Great Tumulus of Gordion, end of the 8th century BC. Museum of Anatolian civilizations, Ankara. See also the photos of the discovery, pages 7 and 8 : [1]. It was found in the Tumulus MM, or the "Midas Mound" (ca. 740 B.C.E.), which was the burial site of King Midas's father. See also at the exhition's catalogue The Golden Age of King Midas, Penn University, 2016 [2] . |
