| Description |
English: Upminster Station, eastward on Platform 2. View eastward, towards Southend-on-Sea and Shoeburyness, also Grays: ex-Midland (LT&SR until 1912) London Fenchurch Street - Barking - Shoeburyness direct line; terminus of the LUL District Line from West and Central London via Barking. The station was radically rebuilt by the LMSR in 1932, when the fourth-rail electrified tracks of the District Line were extended from Barking. Upminster is also served by the local services on the ex-LTSR Romford - Upminster - Grays - (Tilbury) line, also electrified and the Romford service operated as a shuttle service from Upminster. At the end of Platform 2 a c2c EMU is receding towards Southend, while on the left an LUL District Line train is waiting to return to London |
