, presumably Louis XV of France (1710-1774).
  • Identification proposed by user Ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of Louis XV (see images below).
"In the room, in front of a table covered with a green tablecloth, a young man is seated in a chair. He is depicted three-quarters to the right, with his head turned three-quarters to the left. His gaze is directed towards the viewer. The hair on his head is powdered and combed upwards. With his right hand, the man holds a goose feather, and his left hand, resting on the paper on the table, is raised with the palm facing upward. He is wearing a brown monk's robe with a white cloak. On either side of the man, two columns are in the background. Behind the column on the right is a bookcase with books, and at the top, two rows of books are visible. In the upper right corner, there is a lifted lilac curtain. The following is written on the sheet of paper: "Domine salvum fac Regem" (Lord, save the King)."
