| Description | The University of Wisconsin Field House in Madison (1930). It was built to house the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team; the team previously played in the University of Wisconsin Armory and Gymnasium. Their first game was a 17-14 win over Carroll College. Built for $434,000, it could hold 12,000 fans and featured a complete track facility. The Badgers basketball team played here for 68 years, until the Kohl Center opened in 1998. It is still used by the Wisconsin volleyball and wrestling teams. |
