[edit]DescriptionUniversity of Oregon track and field meet, 1966. Early in the 2-mile run in a Dual Meet against UCLA. (1418472972).jpg |
Photo taken in the Spring of 1966 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon (USA). Description of what's going on from Kenny Moore (on the left in this photo): "I won, kicking away from Pyne with 300 to go in 8:44. I had mixed feelings, always happy to win, but I'd wanted to break Dyrol Burleson's school record of 8:42.5. If I'd taken over earlier, I could have gotten it." Click on photo below for more information. (from The Happy Rower): "The UCLA runner is George Husaruk. He was Boys Class 3-A Calif 2-mile cross-country champion in 1963, from Montebello, with a time of 9:39.1, run at Long Beach State. UCLA/NZ runner Geoff Pyne and Husaruk placed 1-2 in the 2-mile in a May 1966 dual meet vs USC, putting UCLA into the lead to win the team standing--the first time that had happened against USC in eons." |
