Thevery earliest attempt, however, at exercising this art, isascribed to Laurence Koster, at Haerlaem, who is said tohave first conceived the art of cutting wooden blocks for thispurpose in 1430, which he immediately improved by substi-tuting wooden types. It is not so easy to determine theshare which Fust had in this invention, but he is known tohave employed his capital in the exercise of the art. Thesecond printed book, that bears a date entitled DurandiRationale divinorum Ofhciorum, was printed by Faust andSchaeffer in 1459; tne Catholicon followed in 1460.FUZELIER, Lewis (Biog.) a dramatic writer of Paris, whodied in 1752, was the author of many theatrical pieces, as Momus Fabuliste, a comedy, • Les Ages, Les Amoursdes Dieux, and other operas, &c.
