| Description |
English: Built in 1915, this Classical Revival-style post office was designed by James A. Wetmore to serve the city of Sidney, Ohio. The building features a red flemish bond brick exterior, limestone base, limestone trim, twelve-over-twelve double-hung windows and casement windows, a cornice with dentils, arched windows on the exterior of the building’s rear wing, a front stoop with brass globe lamp fixtures, fluted stone doric pilasters on the front facade, arched windows flanking the main entrance with stone spandrels, a decorative arched panel above the aluminum entry door, and a low-slope roof surrounded by a parapet. The building is a contributing structure in the Sidney Courthouse Square Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. |
