Summary

[edit]
Description

United was the launch customer for the Boeing 767. Although the initial 767-200 fleet was retired in 2005, United continues to fly a fleet of 35 Boeing 767-300ERs. 21 of them, numbered N641UA through N663UA, are for international duty, with the new "Suite Dreams" 3-class interior and the 2004 "Blue Tulip" livery, while the other 14 examples, numbered N664UA and up, are for domestic and Hawaii duty, with 2-class interior and none ever receiving the Blue Tulip (they would go straight from Battleship Gray to Continental hybrid). In early 2011 this particular example would become the first United 767-300 to receive the "Continited" paint job.

With the Continental merger, the United 767 fleet grows again, as Continental flies a fleet of 10 767-200ERs and 16 767-400ERs. The post-merger United is the only airline in the world operating all three Extended Range variants of the Boeing 767. (Delta once operated all three variants of the 767, but its -200s, now retired, were not -ERs.)
