Summary
[edit]DescriptionUnique geological formation in Central Queensland (16244975494).jpg |
English: This spectacular rock formation is made from thousands of columns of basalt rock. Underground volcanic explosions forced the molten basalt to the surface which cooled and formed into the polygonal columns. This natural beauty spot was photographed by Queensland photographers Reckitt & Mills and perhaps later included in one of their Photographic Views of Queensland . They were known as the Queensland Photo Company and travelled around in a buggy carrying their tent, supplies and photographic equipment. They visited places as widespread as Brisbane, Laidley, Roma, St George, Charleville, Tambo, Blackall, Aramac and Clermont. (Information taken from: Barrie, S. Queenslanders behind the camera: professional photographers in Queensland, 1987-1988).
