Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Historic Union Station used to be a busy train station. It was turned into a hotel, but they preserved all the charm of the detailed woodwork, metalwork, and stained glass. Located on Broadway in Nashville, TN. Clocks are at each end, one over a chariot (buggy), the other over a locomotive (train), symbolizing the advancement of technology. The intricacies of the woodwork and stained glass are phenomenal. The metal designs are worked into the architecture throughout. One of the old train schedules still stands at the registration desk. The "lobby" is an enormous space, with restaurants lining the perimeter on the bottom floor and guest rooms lining the perimeter on the top floor. The exterior contains a large clock tower topped by a statue of Mercury (symbolizing speed), stone, and stained glass windows (bottom floor).

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 69000178.
