SAN DIEGO (Nov. 19, 2017) Undersea Rescue Command (URC), based in San Diego, Calif., mobilizes the Pressurized Rescue Module (PRM) to support the ongoing search for the Argentine navy submarine ARA San Juan (S-42) in the south Atlantic Ocean, Nov. 19, 2017. URC is deploying two rescue assets, the Submarine Rescue Chamber (SRC) and the PRM. The URC Sailors deploying with the rescue systems are highly trained and routinely exercise employing the advanced technology in submarine rescue scenarios. U.S. Air Force C-17 "Globemaster" IIIs and C-5 "Galaxies" from Travis Air Force Base, Calif. and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, are transporting the equipment from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif. to Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina.
