Description
English: Underpass beneath the A31(T) road, Backley Holmes, New Forest. This underpass connects Bratley Plain with Backley Holmes, enabling commoners' stock and walkers to safely cross the busy dual carriageway. The floor of the tunnel is carpeted with pony dung as they like to shade there on hot days (to avoid the flies rather than the sun) and shelter there during bad weather.
