Summary
[edit]DescriptionUnderneath the Kingswood Lift Bridges - geograph.org.uk - 1156332.jpg |
English: Underneath the Kingswood Lift Bridges, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. These twin bridges carry the A1033 over the River Hull just west of Kingswood. The left-hand bridge carries the eastbound traffic and the right, the westbound. This photo was taken from underneath on the path at the side of the river, and, at this point, was extremely muddy. This is certainly NOT recommended in the winter months! The bridges are designed to lift to allow reasonably-sized river craft to navigate this stretch of the River Hull. These days, hardly any boats use this section of the river, so the bridges are rarely lifted. |
