Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Under the railway, Upper South Tyne The Upper South Tyne from Alston down to Slaggyford is a pleasant grade II run, maybe rising to III in higher water. Soon after the confluence with the river Nent, the river runs alongside the South Tynedale Railway, and at this bridge, passes under it. This view looks upstream, to a small rapid just above the bridge. For those who want to play, or wait for others playing, there is usually a big eddy below the river right arch (behind the paddler in the red Mamba).
