El 10 de junio de 1981, la banda terrorista asesinó al policía municipal Carlos Hernández y en su homenaje se ha colocado una placa en la calle Fernando el Católico, en el edificio donde trabajaba y perdió la vida El Ayuntamiento de Madrid da cumplimiento al acuerdo plenario de colocar placas donde se hubieran producido atentados terroristas con resultado de muerte 22/02/2019

En la calle Fernando el Católico número 56, en el distrito de Chamberí, se ha instalado esta mañana una placa en recuerdo a Carlos Hernández Díaz, policía municipal del Ayuntamiento de Madrid que fue asesinado en atentado terrorista por el GRAPO, el 10 de junio de 1981, en este mismo emplazamiento.
