Description
English: Title: Un leone nel giardino

Abstract: Italian political cartoon shows a large building extending from left to right center, with many doors labeled "Equateur", [France], "Autriche", "Angleterre", "Espagne", "Suisse", and "Belgio"; flags for each country hang from upper storey windows or parapets, and standing at each open door is a woman representing that country, most are looking to the right through telescopes at the British Lion in a garden across a small channel of water. At the door labeled "Equateur" is an unconcerned black woman holding up a dead rabbit to offer the lion should it flee from the "Cuarenticie Itali" parachute caught on the top of a domed building, possibly the dome of St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican, in the upper right background. The French door is already closed and locked, and the woman representing France is leaning out an upper window with the French flag behind her. Physical description: 1 print : chromolithograph ; sheet 42.1 x 59.4 cm.
