Summary
[edit]DescriptionUmayyad Palace - Side Chamber.jpg |
English: A palace built in AD 720 by Umayyad Arabs on the Citadel above what is now modern day Amman was destroyed by earthquakes in AD 749 and never fully rebuilt. After much debate by archaeologists as to whether the entrance was originally open or domed a blue dome was added.
A welcome relief to the increasing warmth outside the shaded palace entrance was an oasis of coolness. |
