Français : L'ajonc est une plante pionnière, qui en fixant l'azote enrichit le sol et facilite l'arrivée de grands ligneux (bouleaux et chênes le plus souvent, dans un premier temps au moins). A l'ombre des arbres il s'étiole puis dépérit. néanmoins ses graines restent présentes dans le sol un certain temps, prêtes à germer en cas d'incendies de forêt ou de disparition des arbres.
La photo présente un boisement totalement spontané sur les flancs d'une ancienne carrière, environ 15 ans après le début de la colonisation par les ajoncs. (il s'agit d'une réserve naturelle, zone Natura 2000, Arrêté préfectoral de biotope sise sur le "plateau d'Helfaut", en région Nord/Pas-de-Calais, dans le nord de la France près de St Omer, en bordure du Parc naturel régional de l'Audomarois (devenu depuis PNR "Cap et marais d'Opale"). Le sol est ici argileux et sableux, avec ruissellement d'eau. |
