Description
English: Pareas carinatus atau biasa kita sebut ular siput ini memiliki keunikan tersendiri dari pada kebanyakan ular lainnya. Ular siput lebih cenderung menyukai siput sebagai mangsanya dari pada kadal atau hewan kecil lainnya. Menurut (David dan Vogel 1996) ular ini dapat ditemukan di area perkebunan serta desa-desa yang berdekatan dengan hutan. Ular ini tidak berbisa, bahkan tak bisa menggigit manusia. Akan tetapi perilakunya ketika merasa terancam mirip dengan ular berbisa, bagian tubuh melengkung membentuk huruf “S” untuk menakut-nakuti pengganggu. Saat ditemukan ular ini sedang mencari makanan favoritnya yaitu siput dan berada di semak-semak daun bambu yang sudah mengering. Posisi ditemukannya dekat dengan aliran curug disalah satu desa Gekbrong, Cianjur, Jawa Barat.
