English: A Ukrainian Marine armed with an AKS-74U carbine in a line during civil disturbance operations, Situational Training Exercise 4, Exercise COOPERATIVE OSPREY 96. An AK-74 assault rifle can be seen on the left side of the image. Cooperative Osprey '96 is a United States Atlantic Command sponsored exercise, that will be conducted by Marine Forces Atlantic, in August 1996 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Cooperative Osprey, under the Partnership for Peace program, will provide interoperability training in peacekeeping and humanitarian operations along NATO/IFOR standards, with an emphasis on individual and collective skills. The three NATO countries providing troops are the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands. The 16 "Partnership for Peace" nations contributing troops are Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovak Republic, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. In addition, the following countries are providing observers to the exercise: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Czech Republic, and Denmark.

Opération menée conjointement par les Forces Maritimes de l'Atlantique (américaines) en août 1996, à Camp Lejeune, en Caroline du Nord. L'exercice Cooperative Osprey s'est déroulée dans le cadre d'un programme de partenariat pour la paix, visant à offrir une formation commune. L'objectif était d'acquérir les compétences des missions de maintient de la paix et à vocation humanitaire selon les normes OTAN/IFOR. Le programme a concerné également de multiples autre forces armée et pays. |
