Summary

[edit]
Description Local men carry an injured U.S. airman to two native canoes at the water's edge at the part of Choiseul (Lauru) Island, Solomon Islands, known as Boe Boe. In the far right of the photograph is Sergeant Carden Seton, AIF (later Captain Seton DCM) a Coastwatcher on the island from October 1942 to March 1944. The canoes subsequently moved out to meet a U.S. seaplane (a `Dumbo' mission) which also brought in stores for the Coastwatchers.
