English: From left, Deborah Malac, the U.S. ambassador to Liberia, talks to Col. Laura Favand, the chief of training, DoD Ebola Training Program, Joint Forces Command – United Assistance, and Maj. Gen. Gary Volesky, the JFC-UA commander, during a visit to the National Police Training Center, Monrovia, Libera, Nov. 7, 2014. Malac observed the training that Liberians and nongovernmental organization personnel go through before working in an Ebola treatment unit. The DETT have Ebola survivors play the patients to ensure the health care workers receive the most accurate experience. United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in West African nations.
