Douglas Verissimo, executive officer of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), addresses nearly 2,300 Theodore Roosevelt Sailors during the ship's fall Safety Stand Down at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. The Safety Stand Down is held biannually for the command to emphasize holiday and ship safety measures and current command information to the crew. Theodore Roosevelt is at the mid-point of a scheduled multi-year Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipbuilding.
