Description
English: PHILIPPINE SEA (July 25, 2010) Capt. Edward B. Seal, commanding officer of the submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39), Sailors and civilian mariners pay tribute to USS Indianapolis and crew by offering to the sea a lanyard wreath constructed by Emory S. Land crew members. Indianapolis was sunk by a Japanese torpedo attack in 1945. Emory S Land conducted the remembrance service while crossing the last known charted location of Indianapolis. Emory S. Land is conducting her change of homeport deployment from Bremerton, Wash. to Diego Garcia, where she will provide repair and logistical support to deployed submarines.
