Description
English: PACIFIC OCEAN (May 5, 2010) Lt. j.g. Gabriel Gomez, right, and Construction Electrician 1st Class Leanne Faubion, both assigned to Amphibious Construction Battalion (ACB) 1 based at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif., and Master Chief Hospital Corpsman Denise Becker, a Civil Affairs planner assigned to Maritime Civil Affairs and Security Training based at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Va., test their expeditionary communication equipment aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). Mercy is underway for Pacific Partnership 2010, the fifth in a series of U.S. Pacific Fleet humanitarian and civic assistance endeavors. Pacific Partnership is designed to strengthen regional partnerships and increase interoperability with U.S. interagency, partner nations and international humanitarian and relief organizations.
