English: PADANG, Indonesia (Oct. 9, 2009) Marines assigned the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) work with Indonesian military personnel to load a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter, assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM) 265, with relief supplies for victims of recent earthquakes and resulting landslides in remote villages in west Sumatra. The 31st MEU is deployed aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9). Military forces are providing earthquake recovery and assistance at the request of the Indonesian government as part of a combined Indonesian and U.S. military effort to assist disaster victims.
