Description
English: NEW YORK (May 22, 2009) Retired New York City firefighter Lee Ielpi, whose son Jonathan was a victim of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, shows crew members of the amphibious transport dock ship Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) New York (LPD 21) a beam of steel on display in the World Trade Center Gallery. New York has 7.5 tons of World Trade Center steel in her bow. Approximately 3,000 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsman are participating in Fleet Week New York City 2009. This event will provide the citizens of New York City and the surrounding tri-state area an opportunity to meet service members and also see the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
