English: BAHRAIN (March 23, 2009) A Navy Diver assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 2 helps Master Chief Navy Diver Arne Phillips into his mixed gas diving rig to perform an underwater inspection on the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18). MDSU 2 is an Expeditionary Mobile Unit currently deployed to support diving and combat salvage operations and fleet exercises in the U.S. Naval Central Command area of responsibility. New Orleans is in port in Bahrain to assess and evaluate the damage that resulted from their collision at sea with the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Hartford (SSN 768) on March 20.
