English: SAN DIEGO (Sept. 18, 2008) The Military Sealift Command auxiliary dry cargo/ammunition ship USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7) is launched into the San Diego Bay after the ship's sponsor, Ms. Lauren E. Brashear, christened the ship during the ceremony held at General Dynamics. Lauren Brashear is the eldest granddaughter of Master Chief Carl Brashear. Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Joe R. Campa Jr. was the principal speaker for the event, which also included remarks from Mr. Frederick Harris, President of General Dynamics NASSCO, Master Chief Kenneth Green, Command Master Chief of Military Sealift Command, and Chief of Naval Operations Adm.
