English: PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 14, 2008) Seaman Kevin Taylor, the aft lookout for the amphibious transport dock USS Juneau (LPD 10) monitors the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Pecos (T-AO-197), not pictured, during an underway replenishment. The dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) is in the background. Pecos conducted replenishments with Juneau, the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) and the dock landing ship USS Harper's Ferry (LSD 49). Juneau embarked elements of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) and Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines (BLT 2/4) as part of their annual spring patrol. Juneau is the Navy's only permanently forward deployed amphibious transport dock and part of the Essex Expeditionary Strike Group.
