English: GULF OF GUINEA (Jan. 30, 2008) Portuguese operations officer Lt. Cmdr. Jose Neto instructs two stranded fishermen on how to use a compass after the U.S. Navy amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) stopped to help the men 26 nautical miles south of Sao Tome and Principe, an island republic off the western coast of Africa. The fishing boat was out to sea for four days and out of fuel and supplies. The compass was donated to the fishermen by Fort McHenry Chief Petty Officer Bobby Warren, the ship's master-at-arms. The Fort McHenry is part of Africa Partnership Station, a multi-national effort to bring the latest training and techniques to maritime professionals in nine West and Central African countries.
