English: PRASAT PREAH VIHEAR, Kingdom of Cambodia (Nov. 29, 2007) Hospital Corpsman Troy Brown, a preventive medicine technician with the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), issues prescribed medication to a local citizen. To cultivate long-lasting friendships with the Cambodian people, Marines and Sailors of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and the amphibious assault ship Essex (LHD 2), along with medical staff from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, arrived with medical and dental supplies to provide medical care for the local community. During the medical and dental civic action project, the medical and dental staff provided basic medical and dental relief to local residents by treating more than 1,000 patients and prescribing medication varying from pain medicines and multi-vitamins to antibiotics.
